About the Wedding Performer!

The Wedding Performer was started as a class project for EdTec 540 at SDSU. I was looking for something I was doing in my life that could use some improvement and be helpful for other people. One of my new experiences was being a wedding officiant. I had a hard time finding information quickly. I did not want to put a lot of time into searching, I wanted everything at my fingertips or close by. This website is that project I came up with. I hope you find it useful.

How to Use the Site

This site was created for people who wanted to become an officiant or for people who wanted a friend or family member to become an officiant so they could conduct the ceremeony at the wedding.

The pages are set up to give you step-by-step information to reach that goal of not only becoming an officiant, but conducting a personalized ceremony and finalizing the paperwork to result in a legal union.

THE STEPS

One:

The first thing you should do is visit the link to your specific state to see if they allow non-traditional officiants. If they do not, your journey has ended. If they do, see what their specific requirements are.

Two:

Go to the TIMELINE page and see if the schedule works with your timeframe. It is adjustable and can be shortened.

Three:

The LINKS page is the next logical step. Visit the various ministries, to find one that most closely matches your life philosophy. If there is not an exact match, there are many more than what I have listed.

Four:

Choosing and developing a CEREMONY would come next. I have a few for you to look at. They could be a starting point for your own version. Bookstores and some of the ministries also offer ceremonies.

Misc.:

Visit the FAQ and CONTACT pages as needed. Good luck and have fun.
